In the lap is where the SP+ makes a lot of difference compared to the Type Cover. It does not use Microsoft's Precision Drivers, but it feels very similar with smooth travel and decently accurate tracking. The trackpad is large with a satisfying click when depressed. Brydge provides a very positive typing experience, which is crucial for this accessory to work.

The bounce-back is perfect, and the backlighting is decent (not as elegant as the Type Covers, but it works well). This is an excellent keyboard that feels like the Type Cover with perhaps keys that are a bit stiffer. Where the SP+ really shines is quality of the keyboard and trackpad. I had no issues, and SP+ paired up instantly (you need to type in some characters to confirm.) SP+ uses Bluetooth 5.0, which is nice to see. With Surface Pro 8 powered on and the Bluetooth active, turn on the SP+ by holding down the power button until it blinks (pairing mode). There is, thankfully, little packing with the SP+: You open the box and pull out the keyboard, then slide Surface Pro 8 into the hinges. The Stone Pro TB4 is now available to order for $349, although it may not ship until November 2021. It does, however, obviously offer up to 40Gb/s transfer speeds, running through " a sleek high-grade" form-factor. The new USB type-C dock also supports pass-through charging, albeit only up to 90W. The Stone Pro TB4, on the other hand, comes in just 1 dark gray colorway, and also with a total of 12 additional port and support for up to dual 4K monitors. It comes in Black or Platinum aluminum with an anti-microbial treatment, as opposed to Alcantara in a greater range of colors. It comes in at US$180, whereas the Bluetooth 5.0 Brydge SP+ is now set at $140. Then again, without a fingerprint sensor, a pen or a silo for the same, it is the best match for the cheapest version of the latest Signature Keyboard.

This new SP+ Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad is depicted as having a design that can hold the tablet up without the need to resort to a kick-stand, yet supports viewing angles of up to 180°.īrydge asserts that it can turn the Surface Pro 8 into a true laptop replacement with its " precision" touchpad and backlit keys. Accordingly, its latest such product competes with that first-party add-on for the Surface Pro 8. Brydge might be best known for its alternatives to accessories such as Microsoft's Signature Keyboards.
